Dear UCI Students,

The deadly earthquake on Monday, February 6th, in Turkey and Syria is a cruel reminder of the damage and suffering that can occur after a natural disaster. Our thoughts go out to all of the people that are affected by this catastrophic event.

Students who are impacted are encouraged to visit our campus counseling resources. The International Center is also available to assist members of the international community.

For all of us residing in Southern California - an area known for earthquakes - this occurrence provides an opportunity to become familiar with earthquake preparedness. Please take a moment to review the resources listed on UCI's Emergency Management page for best practices during and after an earthquake.
