Dear Student Affairs Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Floyd Lai started as Associate Dean of Students on September 11, 2023. Floyd most recently worked at California State University San Marcos as the Director for the Cross-Cultural Center and Interim Director of the Women & Gender Equity Center. Floyd completed his undergraduate degree at UC Irvine and his master’s degree in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs (PASA) at the University of Southern California. He has worked at the Cross-Cultural Center here at UC Irvine in various roles including Program Coordinator, Assistant Director and Interim Director. His advocacy for marginalized communities, his skills and experience make him a great addition to the SLL family. Floyd also sits on the NASPA Regional Board and has been a frequent volunteer for NASPA’s Western Regional Conference, including being selected to Chair the Conference in 2024.
