Dear UCI Student,
As you begin another academic year, you will encounter new opportunities to get involved on campus. There are many different student organizations at UCI, including sororities and fraternities. For you to make informed choices about your involvement, UCI would like to provide all students with the following information regarding risk management and student organizations. The list of suspended or non-recognized student organizations can change on a regular basis and we advise you to refer to either of these websites, Campus Organizations and Sorority and Fraternity Life, for the most current information.
Our recognized organizations are actively contributing to the excellence of UCI and the greater Irvine community. To better understand all the operations of our recognized organizations, please refer to the 2023-2024 Annual SFL Report.
Hazing Prevention Hazing is always a concern on college campuses. UCI is charged with the responsibility of providing an intellectually engaging environment in which standards for behavior are clearly communicated to members of the university community. We encourage all students to act where they feel individuals may be at risk. At UCI we ask our students to Choose Kindness: Don’t Haze.

If you are aware of any activity that may put students at risk, you can report it to UCI Police Department, Office of Academic Integrity & Student Conduct, or other offices listed on the Hazing Prevention website.
For additional information regarding hazing, please visit our Hazing Prevention website.
Additionally, here is a listing of on-campus resources:

Please be aware that there are some students who act on behalf of student organizations that are not recognized by UCI. Students representing these groups may contact you to join their organization or invite you to attend their events. These organizations are not affiliated with the campus or respective governing councils in any way. Campus personnel do not advise these groups, do not provide training and resources, and their events are not sanctioned by UCI.
The groups include, but are not limited to:
Dismissed Organizations

- Lambda Phi Epsilon, ΛΦΕ (fraternity) – suspended indefinitely for failure to comply with university policy violations tied to physical abuse and hazing

These organizations have had their recognition revoked by the parent institution or have never received official recognition by UCI, for various reasons. We advise you to join only registered campus organizations by visiting the CampusGroups site. Contact the Student Life & Leadership Office with any questions.
You can find out more information about our recognized student organizations, hazing prevention, and many other ways to build your involvement on campus by contacting Student Life & Leadership (SLL), Campus Organizations and Volunteer Programs (COVP), and Sorority & Fraternity Life (SFL) at studentlife.uci.edu.
We wish you all the best!
